Hello Year 10s and Support Crew!
Students, welcome to the second half of your high school career! This year is going to be jam-packed as we get stuck into getting ourselves ready for senior school. Parents, carers, and supporters – welcome back to another fabulous year of growth and development for your students.
My name is Hannah Wallace and I am the Year Coordinator for our fabulous Year 10 cohort of 2026! I have had the privilege of being of Form teacher with this cohort since their very first days of Year 7 way back at the start of 2023 and it have had the chance to teach many of this cohort through a range of subject areas over the years. It is genuinely my biggest delight that I get to stick with this cohort as we work our way through the second half of high school and I am very excited to see the wonderful things that I’m sure these students are going to get up to.
As part of a huge schedule of events this year, the following make up some key aspects of our program.
Form Teachers & CAB Program
Our Form teachers are your students’ first point of call if they require any assistance or support. Form class allows students to get up to date on any key events or changes to schedules but also provides a space our students to connect with each other and the Form teacher each and every day. Form teachers also deliver our CAB program (Craigslea and Beyond) which helps our students develop their social and personal capabilities in a range of focus areas.
Year 10 Camp
The Year 10 cohort will have the opportunity to attend our annual camp at Maroon Outdoor Education Centre (MOEC) during Week 2, Term 3. This is not mandatory; however, all Year 10 students are invited to attend the camp, which will run from Monday 21 to Friday 25 July 2025. MOEC offers a range of teamwork, resilience, connection and leadership adventures, such as canoeing, hiking, rock climbing and camping. Craigslea SHS students will have the opportunity to select which activities they feel comfortable doing and at which level they believe best suits their own capabilities.
It is important to note that MOEC accepts a maximum of 150 students per camp. If your student has previously expressed any interest in attending this wonderful experience, please ensure that any Expression of Interest forms and payments are submitted by the due date. Expression of Interest forms will be available early in Term 1.
Further information can be found on the Maroon Outdoor Education Centre's website.
SET Planning
This year marks an important step in your student's education journey as they make the decisions about which subjects they wish to study in Years 11 and 12. Students will have opportunities to hear from our Heads of Department as well as other subject area experts who will promote and explain the subjects on offer at Craigslea and how they might help guide students on the way to their desired careers after school. Some subjects and choices are even reliant on decisions being made early in the year so your support will be crucial in ensuring your students are setting themselves up to have the widest range of choices possible when subject selections come around. This process concludes in Term 3, by which time students will have their subject choices for Year 11 finalised.
Questions & Concerns
I am thrilled to be working with you and this cohort in 2026. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in contact at admin@craigsleashs.eq.edu.au.
Looking forward to a wonderful year.
