The purpose of Craigslea State High School is to create a safe, tolerant and disciplined environment in which young people prepare to be active and reflective with a disposition to lifelong learning.

We contribute to student’s development so that they are able to participate in all aspects of learning, engaging confidently with other cultures at home and abroad.

International students are also encouraged to participate in all school activities –(some of which require a commitment to after school hours training/tutoring).  These include music and sport giving them a full range of experiences which contribute to their English proficiency, while at the same time broadening their knowledge and understanding to the Australian way of life.

Craigslea has an excellent reputation as a multicultural school with a genuine commitment amongst staff, students and homestay families ensuring that our International students gain a better understanding of our ‘Global Village’.

Currently we have students from over 45 different cultural backgrounds attending the school.  Each year, we have a Multicultural / Harmony Day in which local and International students work together in preparing food from their own Countries as well as demonstrating their cultural dances.

Mrs Gail Hay our International Student and Homestay Coordinator has received an Australia Day accolade for her contribution to Education.
