The Craigslea State High School Council is constituted to improve student learning outcomes by helping to guide the strategic direction of the school.
School Council Representatives serve as the student voice, ensuring that the perspectives and needs of students are considered in the decision-making process. Their involvement allows the Council to develop strategic plans and initiatives that reflect the student body’s interests and contribute to the overall success of the school community.
School Council Representatives at Craigslea State High School assist in:
- Gathering and sharing knowledge about the school to keep the Council well informed, enabling the implementation of initiatives that benefit the entire school community.
- Supporting and promoting the school’s vision.
- Contributing to the development of strategic initiatives.
- Maintaining effective communication between the Council and the school community.
- Monitoring the implementation of school policies and plans.
- Providing advice to the Principal on strategic matters as a ‘critical friend.’
- Assisting in the development of community links and partnerships.
Leadership Expectations and Accountability
The School Council Representatives are expected to actively fulfil all
responsibilities associated with the role. Failure to meet the
expectations of the position or demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the
role may result in a review of the student's appointment and could lead
to the loss of their position.
Any instance of academic
misconduct, a major breach of the Student Code of Conduct, or failure to
uphold the school's values and expectations will result in the student
being stood down from their leadership position and required to hand
over their badge and leadership responsibilities.
