Design and Food Technologies at Craigslea State High School provides students with engaging, practical learning experiences that inspire creativity, innovation and real-world problem-solving. Through hands-on projects and industry-relevant learning, students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to design, create and evaluate solutions that meet the needs of an ever-changing world.

Our curriculum spans design, engineering, manufacturing and hospitality, offering students opportunities to explore emerging technologies, technical drawing, product design, food and hospitality, and industrial practices. Students learn in contemporary, purpose-built facilities where they apply design thinking, develop technical expertise and strengthen essential skills such as collaboration, communication, critical thinking and project management.

The faculty places a strong emphasis on creativity, sustainability, safety and innovation while preparing students for a diverse range of university, vocational education and employment pathways. Whether pursuing careers in engineering, architecture, manufacturing, hospitality, design or the trades, students graduate with practical experience, industry-relevant skills and the confidence to succeed in further study and the workplace.​ Senior Design and Food Technologies subjects include:
