What would you do if you were representing Japan at a climate summit, negotiating a peace agreement on behalf of France or debating human rights policy at the United Nations?
Model United Nations (MUN) gives students the opportunity to step into the shoes of diplomats and tackle real-world global issues. In simulated United Nations committees, students represent different countries, research international challenges and explore the complexities of international affairs.
Model United Nations Club is where students learn that the world’s biggest challenges are rarely solved by one voice alone.
Highlights of the Program
Students take part in realistic UN-style discussions where they deliver speeches, negotiate with other delegates and work collaboratively to draft resolutions.
Through these experiences, students develop valuable skills in public speaking, research, persuasive writing, critical thinking and negotiation. MUN helps students build confidence in presenting ideas, responding to different perspectives and working collaboratively to find solutions.
By representing countries with different cultures, priorities and political systems, students also develop a deeper understanding of global affairs and learn to approach complex issues with empathy and an open mind.
How to Get Involved
Whether you are interested in politics, current events, debating or law, or simply want to challenge yourself and meet like-minded students, MUN offers an engaging opportunity to develop skills that extend well beyond the classroom.
No previous Model United Nations experience is necessary. Students interested in getting involved can contact:
