General Information

Meetings: 7.00pm in Library - 3rd Wednesday of Month

Our Parents and Citizens’ Association is pleased to welcome students, parents and staff to our school community.

“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm” (Ralph Emerson).

There are many things we – individually and as a school community – may wish to achieve for our school as we strive to make it the best that it can be. Two things at least, will inevitably promote success in this endeavour. One is our will to work together, and the other is our enthusiasm to do so, and to translate our dreams, hopes and expectations into reality. The challenge to make our school the best that it can be is ours – one and all, but it is a challenge worth pursuing, not as an end in itself, but because of the inevitable consequence for our children’s success and their future.

All parents are eligible to be members of the P&C and your involvement whether it be attendance at monthly meetings, or helping out at the canteen or bookshop, is encouraged.

Our P&C Association takes an active support role to:

  • Provide a liaison or conduit between parents and the general community, and the school administration – to inform;
  • Provide a forum for discussion and decision-making (within the parameters provided by the Constitution);
  • Through effective management, oversee the enterprises of the P&C i.e. the canteen and bookshop so that they firstly provide an effective service and thereby secondly provide a source of revenue; and finally;
  • Support the operation of the school, promote the school and the interests of our students to the wider community, and assist in ensuring that Craigslea State High School is the best that it can be – ultimately for the sake of our students.

P&C revenue is derived from the net operational profit of our canteen (though we are ever-mindful that this is a core business service), and a Voluntary Building Fund – current nominated rate @ $50 per family per year. Please note that we do not have a planned Fund Raising Program, and that revenue derived from our canteen is very much dependent upon a constant pool of volunteers.

P&C general meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month, commencing at 7.00pm in the school library. Look for the “P&C News” section of the school newsletter or the events calendar for meeting details and related information.

What would you like to learn/know about the school through participation in the P&C Association? If you have any great ideas or suggestions for ways in which the P&C can better support the interest of the school, and parents, please let us know at .

The Canteen opens for Breakfast, Morning Tea and Lunch from Monday to Friday and has an extensive menu.

Musical – how can you help?

Each year, the Arts Department embarks on a whole school production where students across all year levels are given the opportunity to showcase their talents both onstage and behind the scenes.

With an average cast of 100+ students and rehearsals out of school hours, they are time consuming activities that could not go ahead without substantial community support. We are very grateful for the team of dedicated parents who so willingly give of their time and services, from sewing costumes, to helping with fundraising activities or providing contacts for building materials, etc.

If you would like to assist in anyway or have any questions regarding the event, please contact our Head of Department, Peta Tabuteau.
