Welcome Year 10s!

Welcome to Year 10 at Craigslea State High School! This year, we embark on an exciting new journey as we leave the junior school behind and step into the senior space.

My name is Jordan Hart, and I am the Year 10 Coordinator for 2025. I am excited to support the social, emotional and academic well-being of our students as they continue their high school journey.

Form Teachers and CAB Program

Form Teachers play a pivotal role in supporting and guiding students through high school, working hard to foster positive, safe and secure relationships. Your student's Form Teacher will be the first point of contact if they require any assistance. We are fortunate to have retained many of the same Form Teachers who first met this cohort in Year 8, 2024.

Each Wednesday in Session 3, Form Teachers deliver our CAB (Craigslea and Beyond) program, which helps students develop social and personal capabilities. Through this program, students learn to understand themselves and others while engaging in healthy, respectful relationships—both face-to-face and online.

Our holistic approach supports students in becoming confident individuals with a strong sense of self and belonging. In Term 1, our focus is on the Global Citizenship program, which aims to develop young people into active, informed members of both local and global communities.

Major Events

Year 10 Camp

The Year 10 cohort will have the opportunity to attend our annual camp at Maroon Outdoor Education Centre (MOEC) during Week 2, Term 3. This is not mandatory; however, all Year 10 students are invited to attend the camp, which will run from Monday 21 to Friday 25 July 2025. MOEC offers a range of teamwork, resilience, connection and leadership adventures, such as canoeing, hiking, rock climbing and camping. Craigslea SHS students will have the opportunity to select which activities they feel comfortable doing and at which level they believe best suits their own capabilities.

It is important to note that MOEC accepts a maximum of 150 students per camp. If your student has previously expressed any interest in attending this wonderful experience, please ensure that any Expression of Interest forms and payments are submitted by the due date. Expression of Interest forms will be available early in Term 1.

Further information can be found on the Maroon Outdoor Education Centre's website.

SET Planning

This year marks an important step in your student's education as they decide which subjects to study in Years 11 and 12. Heads of Department from across the school will present to Form Classes, promoting and explaining the senior subjects offered at Craigslea SHS, what will be taught and how these subjects might guide students toward their desired professions. This will commence in Term 2 and conclude in Term 3, by which time students will have their subject choices for Year 11 finalised.

Craigslea SHS Dress Code

The Craigslea SHS Dress Code has been developed through consultation with the school's P&C and is an important aspect of our school culture. It promotes a safe and supportive learning environment by allowing us to readily identify students and non-students at the school. It also fosters a sense of belonging and pride among students. Form Teachers, Class Teachers and Year Level Coordinators will work together to monitor adherence to the Dress Code and to instil a sense of responsibility and respect in students. We believe in working collaboratively with families to uphold the Dress Code, ensuring that our students present themselves in a way that reflects respect for themselves and the school community.
