The Craigslea State High School Council is constituted to improve student learning outcomes by helping to guide the strategic direction of the school.
School Council Representatives serve as the student voice, ensuring that the perspectives and needs of students are considered in the decision-making process. Their involvement allows the Council to develop strategic plans and initiatives that reflect the student body’s interests and contribute to the overall success of the school community.
School Council Representatives at Craigslea State High School assist in:
- Gathering and sharing knowledge about the school to keep the Council well informed, enabling the implementation of initiatives that benefit the entire school community.
- Supporting and promoting the school’s vision.
- Contributing to the development of strategic initiatives.
- Maintaining effective communication between the Council and the school community.
- Monitoring the implementation of school policies and plans.
- Providing advice to the Principal on strategic matters as a ‘critical friend.’
- Assisting in the development of community links and partnerships.
School Council Representative Election Procedure
- Interested students should download and print the Nomination Form, complete the application, and return it to the student counter.
- Additionally,
complete the online Microsoft Forms application sent via email by the
Year Level Coordinator. This form will allow you to provide details of
your three teacher references.
Nominees and their
references are then considered by the Head of Department Senior
Schooling, the Deputy Principal and the Year Level Coordinator. The
School Council Representatives are announced at a Full School Assembly in Term 3, and
the Induction Ceremony for all student leadership positions takes place
in Term 4.
