Meet 'Craig' the Loch Ness Monster
In 2018, our senior school captains ignited the idea of employing our very own school mascot to help grow school spirit. A school-wide vote inspired the idea of a Loch Ness Monster, which was ultimately called 'Craig' in celebration of our wonderful school community, Craigslea. Our 2019 senior captains brought this idea to fruition and presented 'Craig' as a gift to the school.
Each year, 'Craig' is at the forefront of many of Craigslea's events, activities and initiatives, and always brings about much excitement and joy to both students and staff.
A message from our 2021 School Captains
"In 2018 Craigslea's School Captains welcomed our wonderful Loch Ness Monster and School Mascot, Craig! Craig serves as a reliable member of our community aiming to draw students together to support our school spirit throughout the Craigslea community. Whether it's an Instrumental Music Tour, a dress up day or just a random lunchtime, Craig is always eager to join in on the fun.
In 2021, Craig had a jam-packed year filled with exciting activities embraced by many students. From breaking the world record for the longest hand clap chain to shimmering his way across the stage for our Spirit Week Lip Sync Battle.
It's amazing to have such a special, green and kind member of our school community to engage and inspire students. We hope to see students love for him and our school continue to grow!"
