Craigslea State High School enjoys significant support from the community and engages parents as key partners in the achievement of student learning goals.
Two of our parent support groups are CHIMPS (Instrumental Music) and CVA (Volleyball).
CHIMPS
CHIMPS is an invaluable parent body, which represents families involved in the Music Campus. It is linked to both schools through their Parents and Citizens Committees. The purpose of the committee is to support the program as a whole by providing input, fundraising, organisation of musical events and developing partnerships with the wider community. Meetings are held once a term.
Craigslea Volleyball Academy (CVA)
The Craigslea Volleyball Academy is supported by the efforts of a number of dedicated parents. Meeting on the last Wednesday of each month, the CVA Support Group aims to support both players and the young coaches who voluntarily give their time to return to the school to coach. Fundraising is the key priority of the group as they endeavour to reduce costs for members of the academy when they compete in major tournaments throughout the year.
In December, the CVA travels to Melbourne to compete in the Australian titles which involves significant financial commitment from all those involved. The Support Group makes every effort to reduce the financial burden through their efforts during the year. Information regarding meetings can be obtained through the school newsletters.
Our students have active links in the community to various projects including:
