About the Global Citizenship Group
Our Global Citizenship group amalgamates our Social Justice and Environmental groups into a single group with a shared vision: For our students to be 'active citizens in a global society'.
Using the United Nation's 17 Sustainable development goals as our guide, students will explore local and global issues such as justice, sustainability and well-being.
Through fortnightly meetings, students will investigate and discuss the issues that affect their school, the local community and the world, working towards projects that solve some of these issues.
These include:
- Demonstrating the value of our First Nations peoples and culture
- Fostering sustainable school practices to enhance and protect our environment
- Making our school community a safer and more inclusive place to be
Our four global competencies ensure students are demonstrating the skills and attributes of active global citizenship. They are as follows:
- Explore local, global and cultural issues
- Engage in positive interactions across cultures
- Tacke Action for collective well-being and sustainability
- Value the persepective of others
